Marian Charlson, 99, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Thursday morning, February 4, 2021, at her home.
A graveside service and burial will be at 1:30 P.M., Monday, February 15, 2021, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa. There is no visitation. Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
It is encouraged to utilize face masks and to observe social distancing guidelines during the services.
Marian Wosoba was born on January 31, 1922 in Baldwin, Iowa, to John and Florence (Bowman) Wosoba. She was a graduate of Baldwin High School and then attended Maquoketa Junior College. She married Donald Stephen Charlson on March 21, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2012.
Following her marriage to Donald she became a homemaker and they lived in Clinton for 11 years. They then moved to California for 32 years. In 1989, they returned to Iowa, settling near her family in Maquoketa.
Those left to honor her memory include a son, Reese (Linda) Charlson of Galena, MO; 4 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, a brother James, and a son Jeffrey in 2007.
