I just learned of Colleen's passing and was shocked. I had not seen her for several years (in fact, I did not realize she had gotten married) but I remember her well. When I still worked at the courthouse and published the Port of Dubuque Visitor, I would frequently stop and talk with her and flirt a little with her. I always kind of thought of her as being like "Dusty" the stagecoach driver in the movie "The Apple Dumpling Gang". Tough as nails but with a hidden beauty and an inner heart that would do anything for someone in trouble.
To her husband: Mr. Lindstrom, You had a real beautiful woman there and I offer my deepest sympathy to you and your family. God bless you!

My deepest sympathiy for your loss! I ride Colleen’s carriage when I had friends here from out of town. She was so kind and knowledgeable about the history of Dubuque! I loved to hear her speak! She always had a smile on her face! She was committed to her work and very good at it! I didn’t know her personally, but wanted to share she had a positive impact on my life as I’m sure she did of her many patrons that ride the carriage.

Owen and Wyatt you are in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry for your loss. Loved visiting with Colleen at trap meets and taking her advice! She was a great lady! Lots of love.

Linda Blosch de Don May 18, 2020

Hi to the Bradley family...our sympathies and condolences go out to you all today on the passing of Colleen and I see also Virgil passed in February. Although I didn't meet Colleen I feel like I know her. When we visited Dubuque many years ago I had wanted to take a ride in her carriage but there was a freak winter storm in May and we didn't get to go. But we remember your family and the reunion we had at the restaurant. May God grant you peace and happy memories. Love and hugs to everyone. Linda (Blosch) and Roger de Don. (The family tree lady).

We will always remember Colleen taking us from our church to our reception in her horse and carriage back in 1992. She always had a friendly smile and a wave whenever we saw her giving rides downtown. We will miss seeing her doing what she loved.

Owen,Wyatt and family... I am so deeply for your loss 💔.
Colleen was one of the BEST people in this world....
We met at a home prayer meeting when she was just 16 years old...
I knew already back then that she was very "special".
God brought us even closer together in 2000 when we bought the ice cream shop. We worked in unison for the next 20 years....had loads of fun and laughter...
I treasure that long phone conversation we had 2 weeks ago. We laughed..we cried...we loved...
We didn't say good by...

May you find God's peace and love in all the beautiful memories...
Colleen will be sadly missed by way too many.....God bless...
