Gary August Yaddof, 63, died in his home on January 17, 2020 in Charles City, IA due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia (LBD).
Gary was born on July 20, 1956 in Elwood, IA to his parents, Victor and Doris Yaddof. He graduated from the University of Dubuque with a degree in Biology and moved to Northeast Iowa where he worked at Swiss Valley Farms in Luana.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Quiet, calm...and always aware of what was going on. We help him peel back the 'quiet 'a little bit when he pledged Phi Omicron at U of Dubuque. A great friend in college....and one we enjoyed seeing a lot in the years after. Heritage Days in Clayton County were never complete, until Gary, Naomi, a couple of kids or whomever he came out with that October weekend--stopped by and caught up with us.
I knew Gary from high school days. He was funny, kind, and calm. I ran him again on a weekend while we were both home from college, but had not kept in touch. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences for your loss of such a nice guy.
I remember Gary / affectionately known as Yadds from our days of Phi O brotherhood in college. I saw Gary as such a genuine , kind , laid back , sincere, respectful ,mannerly, soft spoken gentleman. I am truly sorry of this passing of a wonderful Phi O brother ,a husband , a father & a friend to many. God Bless You Gary
It was an Honor to have known Gary. We met at the University of Dubuque and became Fraternity Brothers with Phi Omicron. My frat brothers certainly had many personalities, but Gary was special. His face would light up when you met, he was always good natured, easy-going and upbeat. His wife was in the same sorority as my girlfriend and are dear friends, his brother-in-law Pete was also a frat brother, and hired my girlfriend Kris Olson and many of the other frat bros. I am enriched having known Gary and cherish the memories of his friendship. Last time I saw Gary was at another frat bothers son's wedding reception, and we sat together. I had brought an old photo album of our school days and had some great belly laughs. I will always treasure that. Thoughts and prayers to the entire Yaddof family. -Timothy Smith

I was a Delwood classmate of Gary's. My memories of him are that he was quiet but very kind hearted. Reading of his passing, I feel such compassion for the family. I've recently learned quite a bit about Lewy BD and know this had to have been a very difficult road for all involved. My heart goes out to you. I promise to keep you in my prayers. 😥❤🙏

I will always remember Gary for his layback personality and visiting him and Naomi in rural McGregor and our earlier days at the University of Dubuque. He would most of the time be outside when I would stop by unexpectedly after visiting my parents and always had a cold beverage to share. I was glad to know him and he will be dearly missed by many.
So sorry for your loss. I loved working with Gary at Swiss Valley and we shared many laughs. I will always remember him. Linda Gullickson
