I give my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Hovey family for the loss of their mother. Sue was always like a second mom to me while growing up in Maquoketa. I have so many good memories during my childhood with the Hovey family. Going to wrestling meets, cleaning Hov’s Pub every Sunday, football games, Sue’s great cooking and just growing up with Sue and her family. They were like my second family growing up. I have so many good memories with the Hovey’s. Sue always meant a lot to me and had a heart of gold. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Jim Sanger Jr.

Words sometimes seem so inadequate at times like these. Please know how deeply we are thinking of the entire family. As you cry the tears don't forget to smile and even laugh at the special memories you have. Your mom was unique in many ways. She created an everlasting tribute through her bloodlines as you carry the best of those memories forward and pass them down to the next generation. Sincerest sympathy and prayers to you all. Remember there are ones you can turn to if needed and we are always there for you.
Our deepest sympathy to Sue’s family. We always enjoyed seeing and talking with her at noon when we would go to the restaurant for lunch.
