Walter H. Tralau age 91 of rural Baldwin Iowa died Saturday evening August 212004.0 at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa Iowa.A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday August 252004.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa with Celebrant Rev. Ruth Ann Scott Chaplain for Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until Service Time on Wednesday August 252004.0 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Buckhorn Cemetery rural Maquoketa Iowa.Walter H. Tralau was born on August 3 1913 in Clinton County Iowa to William Tralau and Margaret (Matthiesen) Tralau. He was educated in rural Clinton County country schools. He married Dorothy Kirk in September of 1949 in Maquoketa Iowa.In his younger years Walter had worked at an automobile factory in Detroit for a short time. He then became a farmer farming in Clinton and Jackson County for many years.Walter loved farming and dedicated his life to it. He also enjoyed playing baseball in his earlier years.He is survived by: his wife- Dorothy Tralau of Maquoketa IA; children- Bill Tralau of Baldwin IA & Carol Tralau of Cedar Rapids IA; & 1 sister- Wilma Taylor of Wyoming IA. He was preceded in death by his parents 1 brother- Vernie & 1 sister- Louise McNealey.A Walter H. Tralau Memorial Fund has been established.
