Betty's Obituary 
Betty L. Davis, 84, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Friday afternoon, June 15, 2012, at her home in rural Maquoketa, surrounded by her family.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Cremation will follow the celebration and burial will be at a later date.
Betty Laurine Lange was born on November 19, 1927 in Monticello, Iowa, to William Frederick and Violet Beatrice (Carr) Lange. She was raised in the Ozark area and graduated from Maquoketa High School. She married Robert D. Davis on May 25, 1947 in Maquoketa, Iowa.
Betty was a full-time homemaker and mother. She had also cleaned houses and worked for Bramer's for three years, Bonton Café and Carson's Pharmacy.
Betty was a member of the "Betty" Club in Maquoketa. She was an avid bowler and loved deer hunting, gardening, canning, crocheting and sewing. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Boop" to her family and had wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona since 1993.
Betty is survived by her 7 children, Kaye Miller of Medon, TN, Monica Faye Lawrence of Apache Junction, AZ, Robert, Jr. (Judy) Davis of Maquoketa, IA, Thomas (Kathleen) Davis of Delmar, IA, Jeff (Jennie) Davis of Maquoketa, IA, Larry (Pam) Davis of Maquoketa, IA, and Boyd (Rhonda) Davis of Maquoketa, IA; a brother, Ervin Lange of Maquoketa, IA; 22 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and 5 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Leo and a sister, Leona.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Betty L. Davis memorial fund has been established.

Betty was a delight to know. A caring lady who will be missed . Deepest sympathy to the family.
I was so sorry to read of your mom's death. She did some wall papering for my mom and sister and was such a good worker at anything she did. Betty was so sweet and fun. I knew most of you kids in different ways, through school, work , best insurance agent. We all lost a great lady and our deepest sympathy to all the children, grand children and great grand children.

I remember Betty from bowling and I would always called her Betty Boop! I loved the sweet corn also..She was a wonderful lady and always smiling. the hugs were great along with her friendship. She will be missed. Remember we can never be separated from those we love.. because God leaves us with memories to hold and cherish. To the family of Betty, got to know you're mom when she was in the hospital....she was a wonderful person and her smile could light up a room....I am glad she got to enjoy all the pretty flowers you guys send her.. we would visit about that alot...she was a grand person and God has a special place for her...

I only knew Betty for a few short years. Her first thoughts were always for someone else, not herself. She was a kind, hardworking, courageous Lady & I will miss her.
