Jacqueline J. "Jackie" Townsend, 54, of Lost Nation, Iowa, passed away on Friday morning, January 5, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Friends and family may gather in remembrance and celebration of "Jackie" on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 1 to 4 P.M. in the gathering room at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lost Nation, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
Jacqueline Joyce Nissen was born on July 31, 1963 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Donald Lee and Inez (Streets) Nissen. She attended Lost Nation and Delwood schools. She married Tom Rorah on October 8, 1983 in Maquoketa, Iowa. They later divorced, and on June 26, 1999 she married Paul Townsend in Maquoketa, Iowa.
"Jackie" had worked various jobs throughout the years most notably as a cook at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Maquoketa for many years.
"Jackie" enjoyed playing cards, camping, shopping and having coffee with friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her best friend Kathy Duffey.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband Paul Townsend of Lost Nation, IA; children, DJ (Kristin) Fuller of Lost Nation, IA, Shauna (and her husband Heth Davis) Rorah of Lost Nation, IA, Leaha (and fiancé Calvin Ash) Rorah of Anamosa, IA, Maggie Cade of Maquoketa, IA, Jacob Townsend of Dubuque, IA, Gretchen (Bob) Dryer of Maquoketa, IA, Hannah (Richard) Graham of Lost Nation, IA, and Todd Townsend of Bondurant, IA; 8 grandchildren; a brother, Tolly (Pam) Howell of Maquoketa, IA; and sisters, Nancy Miller of Lost Nation, IA, Donna (Kevin) Luna of Greene, IA, and Linda Thomason of Kingman, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Tiffany Nissen, and 2 grandchildren Aaron and Tyler.
