Dear Sandy and family, My cousin Barb called and told me of the passing of your mother. She was such a good friend to mom at Clover Ridge, especially after dad passed away. They were so cute sharing a chair during the entertainment events. Couldn't find one without the other. I remember Mom babysat you when you were small and we rented a house in Clinton from your Uncle Jerry's parents. Lots of family connections. I thought of her today and thought I would try to see her next time I got to Maquoketa. She was a very special lady and I am glad they were able to spend some happy times together. Wishing you good memories and comforting thoughts. Debbie Hayes Gottschalk

Bernice will be remembered fondly and missed by many. I had the privilege of knowing Bernice through our church, but mostly through her grandson Scott.
We are so sorry for your loss.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sorry we cannot attend the funeral. We wanted to share what a wonderful wife and supporter of her husband all the years we knew her during the time of the fire fighting years that both my John and Jim were on the fire department. I always liked to visit with her. Connie and John Cressey

Sandy & family,
I'm sorry to hear of your mother's death. I spent a month of respite care at Clover Ridge in April and ate breakfast with her one morning. Not sure what she thought when I told her who I was. She was very neat and stylish.
Will keep everyone in my prayers.

To Bernice's family - I'm so sorry to read of her passing. I enjoyed seeing Berniece's cross stitch art and getting some words of advice from her on my projects. She was a very special lady, always well dressed and looking sharp. Bless her and the family during this time.
