James L. "Jamie" Yarolem, 48, of Baldwin, Iowa, died on Sunday evening, March 2, 2014, at his mother's home in rural Baldwin, Iowa.
Friends and family may gather for "One Last Party"Â® in remembrance of Jamie on Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 5 to 7 P.M. in "The Bistro" at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date.
James Lee Yarolem was born on March 22, 1965 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Robert and Connie (Currie) Yarolem. He was a 1983 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School and then served in the Army National Guard for six years.
James was a self-employed carpenter working for several area contractors. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, target practice and drinking with his buddies. He especially enjoyed fishing for Catfish and Walleyes, and he loved cooking with chili being a family favorite.
Those left to honor Jamie's memory include a son, Kohl James Bodenhofer of Maquoketa, IA; his mother, Connie Yarolem of Baldwin, IA; brothers, Randy (Lisa) Yarolem of Oxford Mills, IA, and Rusty (Cherie) Yarolem of Stilesville, IN; and a sister, Cheri (Ron) Chase of Oxford Junction, IA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Robert on March 5, 1996.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a James L. "Jamie" Yarolem memorial fund has been established.

Connie and family... I was so sorry to hear about Jamie. We enjoyed him in the UMYF youth group. Every time I saw him, he spoke. He will be missed. Prayers are with you all!
Jamie will be missed. He was always a comfort to my mother and was always there to help her with all his handy work.Jamie always watched out for my brother larry, now they can visit once again.

I am very sorry for you loss Connie and kids. Jamie was a fun loving person . I can remember all the times he and the rest of the ( Baldwin kids ) ran together. MYF the church stuff we all did together. But now he is in gods hands no more pain. I will always remember the good times we had growing up .you were a great person ....

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my good friend. So many memories and good times... I can't help but ask what will we do without him? He meant so much to me and my family. Connie we were truly blessed to have Jamie by our side when Larry was ill. I will miss him more than words can express and I want you all to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Oh wow, so hard to believe you are gone Jamie, I have some good memories of babysitting ya'll! Kept me on my toes, but it was fun! To the family I am so sorry to hear of Jamie's passing. He was such a great guy and will be sadly missed by all. I'm am sadden by his death and the thought of having to bury a child is a deep pain and you feel as if part of you is dead.
